This traditional Irish song is one that means a lot to me and my family. It is sung at almost every one of our parties, and was one of my late grandfather’s favorites. It tells the story of Joseph Mary Plunkett, an Irish revolutionary who had the chance to marry his fiancée before he was executed by British forces. Grace is not only a beautiful tune, but one that makes me proud to be Irish. It shows the resilience of our freedom fighters and just how much they sacrificed to achieve Ireland’s independence.
